Researcher biography

Louise completed her masters in Toxicology and Environmental Health as well as in Health Sciences (specialisation in epidemiology and infectious diseases). She is PhD candidate, enrolled in a joint PhD program between the University of Queensland (QAEHS) and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Environment and Health). Her PhD study focusses on chlorinated paraffins (CPs), in particular advancing analytical capabilities for CPs in order to allow a first evaluation of their levels in Australia. Louise is interested in in analytical chemistry, in particular developing and/or adapting methods to analyse organohalogen compounds, and assessing the levels, fate and hazard potential of emerging chemicals.
