Homa holds a Bachelor’s degree in food science majoring in health and quality control and a postgraduate certificate in toxicology from the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in Switzerland. In 2014 she completed her Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at QAEHS (formerly Entox), the University of Queensland. Her Master’s thesis was to develop a method using Euglena Gracilis to evaluate toxicity of free cyanide and strong metal cyanide complexes in tailing storage facility (TSF). Upon graduation, she worked at a commercial laboratory analysing water and wastewater samples where she developed her analytical skills and was involved in method development and validation processes. She aims to expand her analytical skills on environmental organic contaminants at QAEHS.
