Jasper is an avid LC- and GC-MS analytical chemist with a passion for method development and optimisation. He completed his Bachelor of Forensic Science (Chemistry major) at Griffith University (GU) at the end of 2017, after which he immediately began employment as a Laboratory Technician at the Griffith University Chemistry Teaching Laboratories. During his employment at GU, he was involved in teaching of undergraduate chemistry laboratory classes as well as research support; research projects involved characterisation and toxicity of methyl methacrylate (MMA) based dental resins, double bond conversion and leachate studies on MMA based dental resins, and adsorption properties of activated tyre char with respect to PFAS and imidacloprid. In 2020, Jasper decided to undertake an Honours (Class I) project with GU and Queensland Health Forensic and Scientific Services (QHFSS) evaluating the evidential value of polypropylene twine using FTIR, MSP and IRMS. Upon completion of Honours, Jasper began employment as an Analytical Chemist at Australian Superintendence Company (ASC) analysing grain and oilseed extracts for pesticide residues, mycotoxins, and heavy metals using LC-, GC-, and ICP-MS. Jasper is now employed as a Senior Research Technician at QAEHS, working with analytical instrumentation to support research and consultancy projects.
