Researcher biography

Giuseppina is a Research Fellow at QAEHS, joining the group in 2026. She completed her PhD at IDAEA-CSIC, Spanish National Research Council, where her research focused on human exposure to microplastics and their potential health effects. Before joining QAEHS, she worked as a Consultant at the International Atomic Energy Agency, developing analytical methods for monitoring contaminants in food, and as a scientist in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

At QAEHS, her research focuses on developing analytical methods for target and suspect screening of environmental contaminants in human and environmental samples using high-resolution mass spectrometry. Her work aims to improve the detection and characterization of contaminants of emerging concern in complex matrices, supporting human biomonitoring and exposure assessment studies.
