Researcher biography

Dr. Soumini Vijayasarathy is a senior research assistant with a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry and experience in analytical and environmental chemistry for over 10 years. As part of her role within the Emerging Environmental Health Risks theme of the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS) at The University of Queensland (UQ), Soumini has been involved in the analysis of different classes of contaminants such as, phthalates metabolites, bisphenols, per and poly flourinated alkyl compounds (PFAS), pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs). A key focus of her research is the improvement of analytical methodology from different matrices both environmental (e.g. wastewater, ground and surface water) as well as biological (e.g. fish, eggs, serum, urine and follicular fluid).
