How long have you worked at QAEHS?
A bit over 4 years.
How do you explain your job to people?
Administration at the absolute base level of it, but with a wide range of subjects (finance, HR, website, travel, reports, statistics, events, ordering) and assisting a large and diverse group of students, staff and researchers.
What is your favourite thing about working at QAEHS?
My science background is completely unrelated to the research that QAEHS conducts, so I’m constantly learning new things.
What is something you learned in the last week?
We have been ordering scientific freezers for the new Specimen Bank and they are a lot more expensive than I had realised.
What has been your career path that led to your current position at QAEHS?
I worked as a Project Officer on a Queensland Health funded, physical activity research program at a university for a number of years. I then lived and worked in Canada, before landing back in a university research centre with QAEHS.
What is your favourite movie?
It would be a tie between Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Die Hard.

I’ve worn glasses since I was 9 years old.
