Please note this is a PhD candidate confirmation seminar.

Wastewater-based epidemiology has been widely applied to evaluate consumption of alcohol and tobacco consumption within a population. This approach provides near real-time estimation and valuable information to traditional monitoring approaches. This PhD project aims to use tobacco-specific biomarkers to estimate tobacco consumption and evaluate long-term trends of alcohol and tobacco consumption by WBE.

Qiuda Zheng completed his Bachelor of Marine Resources and Environment in 2015 followed by a Master degree of Environmental Science and Engineering in 2018. Qiuda joined QAEHS in 2018 for a PhD and is researching on tobacco and alcohol consumption through wastewater-based epidemiology.
