Nanoplastics are increasingly recognized as contaminants of concern in aquatic environments, but their reliable analysis remains difficult because of their small size and the analytical challenges associated with sample handling and quantification. This presentation will introduce the development of an offline AF4–Pyr-GC/MS workflow for size-resolved, polymer-specific analysis of environmental nanoplastics, with a focus on pretreatment, concentration, polymer recovery, and AF4-based fractionation. It will also present the main methodological progress achieved so far and outline how these results contribute to improved nanoplastics analysis.
