Australia is experiencing a rapid rise in injectable peptide use, driven by growing interest in physique enhancement, weight loss, recovery, and longevity. This presentation explores what we currently know about peptide use, associated health risks, and the challenges facing clinicians, policymakers, and harm reduction services in responding to this emerging phenomenon.

Dr Timothy Piatkowski is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at The University of Queensland and an international leader in community-led research on image and performance enhancing drugs. He has secured over $10 million in funding as a chief investigator, authored 200+ publications, and leads several national award-winning harm reduction initiatives.
