Researcher biography
Pavla obtained her PhD in Environmental Health Sciences at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic in 2023, where she focused on testing passive sampling techniques to characterize mixtures of polar organic contaminants in aquatic environments. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, combining passive sampling with advanced analytical mass spectrometric methods to characterize the sampled chemical space.
In 2025, Pavla joined QAEHS as a Visiting Academic supported by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship, where she works on the AQUAGloCon project. The project aims to assess the global distribution of unknown hydrophobic contaminants of emerging concern in aquatic environments using samples collected by passive sampling within the AQUA-GAPS/MONET network and advanced analytical mass spectrometric methods.
