Ion mobility high-resolution mass spectrometry (IM-HRMS) derived collision cross section (CCS) values are a valuable additional identification parameter in suspect and non-target screening analysis (SSA/NTS) of legacy and emerging environmental contaminants. The utilization of CCS data is of special interest for contaminant classes occurring in homologue series as these show characteristic relationships between CCS and mass to charge (m/z) ratios which can be described by class-specific CCS-m/z trendlines. This presentation will focus on applications of such trendlines for the annotation of emerging environmental contaminants and their in vitro biotransformation products.
