Dr Qing (Summer) Xia completed her Phd at the University of Queensland. Her PhD study utilized in vitro models to assess human exposure risk posed by mixed metal/metalloids (as well as PAHs) in soils. Postdoc researches have expanded to biomedical field, studying the potential of natural herbs to alleviate leukemia and silicosis. Also, study was carried out regarding the health effects of microplastics on lung using human lung cell system. Her current role is to assist with consulting projects by doing sampler preparation and extracting organic compounds from samplers.
