With a background in biological science and public health epidemiology, Ian Stewart’s doctoral studies focused on the toxicology and epidemiology of cyanobacteria in recreational waters. He developed an in vivo regulated hypothermia test to investigate the acute toxicity of algal and cyanobacterial toxins, and his post-doctoral studies included research into ciguatera and other marine algal toxins, and toxic metals in seafood. Ian is an enthusiastic supporter of the open-access publishing model; view his publications.
