Researcher biography
Reena earned her BSc degree in Biological Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology in 2016 and completed her thesis in Taiwan focusing on the applications of bioassays for environmental pollutant screening. She then completed her MSc degree in Environmental Engineering in 2018 at National Cheng Kung University and worked on environmental nanotoxicology and environmental monitoring and health risk assessment projects. She developed an interest in human biomonitoring (HBM) studies while working on a project about organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in human breastmilk. In July 2022, Reena started her PhD at QAEHS focusing on understanding human exposure to benzotriazoles and other environmental pollutants using HBM.
