Josh completed a Bachelor of Applied Science: Exercise and Nutrition in 2009 and Graduate Diploma in Education Primary in 2014. In his early career, he has worked as a teacher, business development manager and strength and conditioning trainer. He started working at QAEHS in 2020 as an RA and spent 2021 managing the sample logistics for the Queensland Wastewater Surveillance for SARS-CoV-2. In 2022, Josh accepted a job with University of Melbourne and moved to the remote Indigenous community of Galiwin’ku in Arnhem land. In this role, he worked closely with Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups to assess a health initiative designed at improving Cardiovascular risk factors for Yolŋu people through traditional diet and hunting practices. Josh is currently working on the set-up and co-ordination of the newly constructed Australian Environmental Specimen Bank at Long Pocket.
