Researcher biography
Nicole completed a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from University of Leipzig, Germany in 2017 and a master’s degree in Forensic Science at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands in 2020. During her work in the EU-project ‘SCOREwater’ on societal drug consumption estimation in cities in Spain she has gained extensive knowledge and broad expertise in the science and technology of the field of wastewater-based epidemiology. In April 2023 Nicole joined Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Science (QAEHS) as a PhD student within the SewAus project – ‘Understanding Australia by analysing wastewater during the Census 2021’ focused on influx and fate of chemicals to Australia and socioeconomic aspects related to public health.
