Researcher biography

Marina completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biological Science at Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan in 2020. In her bachelor’s research, she looked at the gene expressions of neurotransmitter receptors in the zebrafish brain. In 2023, she received her Master of Environmental Management degree from The University of Queensland. In 2021 while she was doing her master’s program, she participated in the Summer Research Program at QAEHS and started being involved in several research projects related to PFAS analysis in wastewater, biosolids, and biota. In October 2023, she officially started her PhD at QAEHS. Marina is investigating chemicals in the human brain/blood and their associations with neurological diseases.
