Researcher biography

Kavya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Rajasthan, where she was awarded the University Gold Medal for academic excellence. She procured the prestigious DST-INSPIRE Fellowship and presented a project report titled "Investigating the Impacts of Heat Stress on Workers" during her Master's coursework.
Moreover, she served as Vice-President of her department and is a district-level basketball player and has been a part of college chess team.

She is currently a Ph.D. scholar at the UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR), jointly supervised by A/Prof Nicholas Osborne (QAEHS, UQ) and Prof Sagnik Dey (IIT Delhi).

Her research focuses on exploring the combined impacts of climate change, air pollution, and heat stress on human health, whilst addressing the pressing environmental challenges with a strong interest in environmental epidemiology and public health policy.
