Steve Li is a Research Assistant at QAEHS, where his work focuses on environmental exposure science. He contributes to the development and refinement of sampling and laboratory workflows for assessing environmental contaminants in air, dust, water, and biological matrices, working across sample preparation, extraction, and analytical processes to support exposure assessment.

Steve completed his studies in pharmacology and pharmaceutical science at Monash University, where he developed an interest in how chemical substances interact with biological systems. During this time, he was involved in research on nanoparticle drug delivery, focusing on polymer-based carriers, and also gained experience in preclinical pharmacology studies involving small-molecule GLP-1 compounds in animal models. These experiences provided him with exposure to working with biological samples and a foundational understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Building on this background, he has developed a growing interest in how environmental exposures influence human health, and is keen to further develop expertise in exposure assessment and method-driven research in environmental health sciences.
