Principal supervisor: Dr Xianyu (Fisher) Wang
Researcher biography
Ken completed his Bachelor of Environmental Science with Honours major in environmental toxicology at the University of Queensland in 2019 and was awarded an Honours Class I. Under the supervision of Dr Xianyu (Fisher) Wang, he studied the chemical migrants from baby food pouches during his honours year. By using a combination of targeted analysis and suspect screening, he identified a few non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) that might present a health risk to the infants. In 2021, he commenced a PhD with Prof Jochen Mueller and Dr Xianyu (Fisher) Wang. His PhD project aims to further understand the exposure and metabolise pathway for various plastic additives as well as their potential health risks.
