Researcher biography

Madi completed her Honours degree at the University of Tasmania’s Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, where she focused on modelling environmental and behavioural drivers of Adélie penguin chick survival in East Antarctica. Post-honours, she worked as a lab technician at the Australian Institute of Marine Science in North Queensland researching microplastics in the Great Barrier Reef and crown of thorns starfish eDNA. Her post-graduate studies will work towards establishing a standardised and integrated systems biology approach for in-situ ecotoxicology risk assessments in wildlife populations, using seabirds in Australia and Antarctica as a matrix.
