Dr Jake O'BrienQAEHS Research Fellow Dr Jake O’Brien is a member of the EMCR@UQCommittee, who recently won the UQ Award for Excellence in Leadership. Early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs; Levels A-C) constitute over 70% of UQ’s academic research workforce. To generate positive impact within UQ’s Strategic Plan (2018-2021), the university-wide EMCR committee (EMCR@UQ) organised a series of dialogues with Heads of Schools, Faculty Deans and Institute Directors, and across the broader EMCR community. This activity, supported by the DVCRI Office produced the “EMCR@UQ Roadmap 2019-2021” setting strategic priorities and actions. Thanks to continuing advocacy by EMCRs and widespread commitment to this plan by UQ Central and Organisational Units, significant outcomes have already been, and continue to be, delivered to benefit the UQ research community.
