QAEHS in Focus shines the spotlight on QAEHS staff and students to showcase the expertise and talent within our Centre.
How long have you worked at QAEHS? Since 2018, so nine fun-filled years!
How do you explain your job to people? I facilitate researchers’ ideas and turn them into reality. I create data and sample collection methodologies, liaise with participants and collect the data. Like a fairy godmother!
What is your favourite thing about working at QAEHS? I have worked across a few different campuses and schools at UQ - the people at QAEHS are the friendliest and most supportive bunch I have ever worked with.
What is something you learned in the last week? That wombat’s pouches face backwards! (Can you tell I was on holidays in Tasmania recently?).
What has been your career path that led to your current position at QAEHS? I have an Honours degree in Psychology but found that I enjoyed research more than clinical practice. I have worked at UQ for over 20 years on various research projects. I worked on another project at Pharmacy that was winding up and Jochen was looking for research support staff and I’ve been here ever since!
What is your favourite movie? I’m a Wes Anderson nut and love The Grand Budapest Hotel (closely followed by Fantastic Mr Fox!)
Random fact you would like to share about yourself. I hate exercising and my favourite things to do are eating and sleeping. Good thing I like to cook!
