QAEHS hosted their 2024 Annual Research Forum at the UQ Brisbane City campus on Friday 6 December. The forum brings together researchers and students from across the centre as well as industry partners from Queensland Health, Public and Environmental Health Reference Laboratories (PEHRL) and the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI). The hybrid event was well attended with over 100 attendees across online and face to face.
As part of this year’s program, QAEHS PhD students presented research posters for the forum attendees. Winner Julia Orr presented her research on Establishing the fitness for purpose of human biomonitoring programs based on pooling of deidentified surplus pathology samples with Marina Suzuki received a Commendation for her research poster on The Role of Environmental Chemical Exposures in Neurodegenerative Diseases.
