QAEHS in Focus shines the spotlight on QAEHS staff and students to showcase the expertise and talent within our Centre.
Why did you choose QAEHS to study with?
I would say QAEHS was chosen for me! I was informed that if I had a strong interest in all things related to microplastics, QAEHS was the best place to be. That's why I ultimately decided on QAEHS for my PhD.
What is your research about?
I am investigating the presence and distribution of tyre wear particles and tyre additives in the Australian environment. Little is currently known about the significant contribution of tyres to microplastic pollution.
How do QAEHS academics assist with the development of your research?
People at QAEHS are amazing. They are always happy to help even in their busy schedules. They provide invaluable support by offering their expertise, guiding in experimental design and data analysis, and facilitating access to specialised equipment and resources.
What is the best thing about living in Brisbane?
Brisbane's charm lies in its relaxed and laid-back vibe compared to other bustling cities. It is a wonderful place to live if you prefer a more tranquil and peaceful environment while still enjoying the perks of city life.
What is your favourite movie?
I usually gravitate towards horror, suspense, investigative, and true-crime movies/series. To lighten the mood, I enjoy watching classic comedy films! Just to name one of my favs: It’s TAKEN. It blends elements of action, thriller, and suspense genres!
