Dr Elvis Okoffo, QAEHS Research Fellow, recent research has found that plastic kettles are a source of plastic exposure. The highest levels of plastic were detected in the first few boils though plastic particles were still detected even after 150 uses. Researchers are calling for manufacturers, policymakers and regulators to inform consumers with safety guidelines or product label warnings.
