QAEHS PhD students attended the recent UQ Marine Biodiversity Roadshow held in Redcliffe. PhD students Stacey O’Brien and Steve Burrows’ showcase explained how plastics are released into the environment, their negative impacts and what people can do to help tackle plastic pollution.
The students found the experience inspiring, PhD student Steve Burrows says, “It’s always awesome to get out and chat to the public about plastic pollution. People get so fired up about the issue and really want to know how they can help. It’s especially heartening to see the young kids so engaged too!”
