The annual School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences/Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences Three Minute Thesis competition was held on Tuesday 14th July 2026 in the Dutton Park Campus auditorium.
This year’s competition featured 7 QAEHS HDR students, each presenting their research to an engaged audience. The presenters included Marina Suzuki, Hieu Ngo, Lin Chen, Pooja Lakhey, Lily Pan, Haitao Lin and Yuya Cheng.
Pooja Lakhey and Lily Pan have qualified for the HMBS Faculty Final on the 13th August, hosted in the TRI Auditorium.
QAEHS Director, Prof Kevin Thomas, expressed his appreciation for all the participants, stating, “Each student presented with confidence and excellence, resulting in an exceptionally strong field and a difficult decision for the judging panel.”

- Haitao Lin – Characterisation and quantification of nanoplastics in the environment using pyrolysis gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry
- Yuya Cheng – Oxidative stress in your diet and lifestyle
The 3MT® is an academic competition that challenges PhD students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. 3MT® celebrates the discoveries made by research students and encourages their skill in communicating the importance of research to the broader community.
